1. Fresno State uses new grant to expand support for pregnant and parenting students (abc30.com) — Fresno State is rolling out new support for pregnant and parenting students, funded by a California State University microgrant that will help launch a Fall Harvest Festival connecting families to campus and community resources. Nearly 2,000 Fresno State "parent scholars" can access priority registration, family-friendly events, and free monthly diapers, all aimed at helping them balance school, parenting, and long-term family success.
2. Road rage driver reverses into victim's car at Fresno stop light, police say (yourcentralvalley.com) — A Fresno driver's car was repeatedly rammed in reverse at a Herndon and Maple stoplight after a road-rage encounter that began near Herndon and Millbrook, police say. Officers, aided by the police helicopter, later arrested a 53-year-old suspect near Nees and Chestnut, booking him into Fresno County Jail on assault with a deadly weapon and related charges.
3. Public Notices 9/30/2026 (thebusinessjournal.com) — A long list of new public notices details upcoming foreclosure auctions on Fresno homes, HOA and commercial properties, plus several local probate filings that may affect heirs and creditors. It also includes fictitious business name registrations for Fresno enterprises and a key October 20 county hearing on the massive Friant Ranch Community Plan update north of the city.
4. Update: Floral Fire in Fresno County remains fully contained as of Tuesday morning (sacbee.com) — A 30-acre wildfire dubbed the Floral Fire, which broke out Monday afternoon on the eastern side of Selma in Fresno County, is now reported 100% contained as of Tuesday morning. Fire crews from Cal Fire's Fresno-Kings Unit stopped the blaze from spreading, and while it may still burn within the control lines, officials say it's no longer expected to grow.
5. Family Offices Trade 18-Unit Multifamily Property in Fresno's Bullard Submarket (cremarketbeat.com) — An 18-unit apartment community at 1550 W. Swift Ave. in Fresno's Bullard area has sold for $2.23 million, shifting from a longtime Colorado owner to a local family office. With all two-bedroom, two-bath units and proximity to River Park, Fig Garden, Fashion Fair, Fresno State and Fresno City College, the buyer is expected to pursue upgrades and rent growth opportunities.
