Officers arrived and found a 2002 Toyota Corolla disabled in a ditch. Inside was a man, 61 year old Tracy Chance of Fresno, who was deceased. Officers noticed the nature of his injuries were not consistent with a traffic collision, so a crime scene was created. Selma Police contacted the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office due to the incident occurring in a county jurisdiction. Homicide detectives and members of the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to begin an investigation.
A preliminary investigation shows the victim is known to sleep in his car and often parks in the area in which he was discovered Wednesday morning. Detectives have not identified any persons of interest or determined a motive for this homicide. This remains an ongoing investigation.
