Local businesses are the heart of our communities. Patch had a chance to talk with Yossi Burstyn, Brand Partner, of CubeSmart Self Storage.
Patch: Tell us a bit about your business or organization:
Yossi Burstyn: CubeSmart Self Storage at 1844 S Cherry Ave is a newly renovated, climate-controlled storage facility built to make storage simple, accessible, and stress-free for residents and businesses across Fresno. We’re located right off Highway 41, less than a mile south of downtown, and the building is visible from the highway in both directions, so we’re easy to find and even easier to get to. Whether someone is moving, decluttering, or managing inventory for their business, we want the storage process to be smooth from start to finish. And as a bonus, our customers get to store their belongings in a piece of Fresno history, a 1918 building that was once the largest raisin packing operation in the world.

Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
Yossi Burstyn: We’ve been part of the Fresno community since 2024.
Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Yossi Burstyn: I’ve always been interested in real estate and building businesses that serve everyday needs. Self storage stood out as an industry that combines long-term stability with real value for people, since it’s something everyone needs at one point or another. When we saw the opportunity to bring modern, climate-controlled storage to South Fresno in such a convenient location, it made perfect sense. We wanted to create a secure, clean, accessible, and well-run facility that customers could truly rely on.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Yossi Burstyn: I always tell customers that a little preparation before move-in goes a long way. Label boxes clearly, stack heavier items on the bottom, and leave a small walkway inside the unit, you’ll thank yourself later when you need to find something quickly. I also remind customers not to underestimate the value of climate control. Fresno summers are hot, and climate control helps protect everything from furniture and electronics to business inventory and sentimental items year-round.
Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Yossi Burstyn: The most satisfying part is seeing the facility work exactly as it was designed to: easy to reach, simple to use, and genuinely helpful for customers. We put a lot of thought into accessibility, and it’s rewarding to see customers benefit from that in a real way.
Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Yossi Burstyn: What sets our facility apart is that it’s newly renovated, climate-controlled, and conveniently located right off Highway 41. From the moment you arrive, everything is designed to make storage simple. Our climate-controlled units keep your belongings protected year-round, and drive-up units make quick trips even quicker. Inside, elevator access and multiple entry points make loading and unloading easy, and the CubeSmart app lets you get in right from your phone. The combination of a fresh renovation, modern features, and a location you can’t miss is what truly sets this facility apart in South Fresno.
