Air Tankers Attack Brush Fire Near Gilroy: 15 Acres Burn
The Uvas fire erupted in the hills near Uvas and Little Uvas Roads in Santa Clara County, Sunday.

GILROY, CA — A vegetation fire broke out Sunday evening in an unincorporated area near Gilroy, officials report.
The Uvas Fire, which sparked through 5 acres before before 5 p.m., has burned nearly 15 acres as of 6:45 p.m.
Multiple agencies worked to battle the blaze, and several air tankers were requested to join those working the scene.

At least two air tankers battled the blaze as of 7 p.m.
The Uvas fire is burning in steep terrain about three miles southwest of Morgan Hill, Cal Fire reports.

According to officials, thus far there have been no injuries, and no structures have been damaged. It is not known what started the fire as of this report.
