GILROY, CA — A small earthquake rattled parts of the San Francisco Bay Area early Monday.
A magnitude 3.0 quake struck at 1:13 a.m. about 7.4 miles east-southeast of Gilroy in Santa Clara County and 17.4 miles east of Watsonville in Santa Cruz County, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was near San Felipe Lake in San Benito County.
The quake occurred at a depth of more than 3 miles.
Residents reported feeling the quake in Gilroy, Hollister, Morgan Hill, Oakland, San Jose, according to the USGS's "Did You Feel It?" map.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
