Get Dirty, Throw an Event and Eat Fresh at the Gilroy Demonstration Garden

Hello, we’re the Gilroy Demonstration Garden, located downtown on Eigleberry between 6th and 7th streets.

Each week we have volunteer days where our Gilroy neighbors can come together to work and play in the garden, where we grow organic vegetables and flowers. In exchange for their labor, volunteers can take some of the produce home with them.

Our work days are Wednesday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., although we’re there most days and welcome folks to join us!

Aside from our volunteer days, there are a few other happenings taking place at or near the garden:

• This Saturday we’ll be having a plant sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and we’ll have the starts we’ve grown available for purchase.
• The Demonstration Garden not only serves as a way to get your hands dirty and enjoy the outdoors, but it's a place to throw an event. People can rent a space at the garden, and interested individuals can contact us for more information. 
• Our local farmer’s market is just around the corner, starting May 13 and continuing through October 28. The market will be full of several vendors selling produce and tasty treats, as well as vendors displaying their fine arts and crafts!

Don’t forget to swing by the garden to purchase the freshest, organic food in town! We hope to see Patch readers down in the garden, either volunteering, purchasing produce or just enjoying the beauty found in our garden.
