Arrest Made In Sobrato High School Threat, Morgan Hill Police Say

"... All threats will be taken serious and prosecuted no matter what the intent," Morgan Hill police said.

SANTA CLARA VALLEY, CA — Morgan Hill police have arrested a student in connection with a threatening message allegedly found this week at Ann Sobrato High School. Officials with the Morgan Hill Police Department and Morgan Hill Unified School District received word Tuesday of a possible threat found at the Burnett Avenue campus and "immediately responded to the school to investigate a written message located a day after it was written," Morgan Hill police Sgt. Troy Hoefling stated Wednesday in a news release.

As a result of their investigation, a student believed to be responsible for the message was identified, arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, the sergeant said.

The arrested student's name was not disclosed, nor was the nature of the alleged threat.

A team of officers remained at Sobrato High throughout the investigation, Hoefling said.

"MHPD encourages parents to talk with their children to reinforce the severity of these types of actions," Hoefling said. "There is an increase of threats being made at schools across the nation and all threats will be taken serious and prosecuted no matter what the intent."
