Ben Sherman and '70s Punk Rock Power this Salinas Native's Style
Josh Galvan, 25, shops at the Gilroy Premium Outlets to purchase a few key pieces to complete his punk rock look.
Twenty five-year-old Josh Galvan uses his Elvis chops and Ben Sherman shirts to fashion his old school rock and roll look.
Gilroy Patch caught up with him and asked a few fashion questions.

Galvan: I like Urban Outfitters and Ben Sherman, and the outlets have some cool stuff
Patch: How would you describe your style?
Galvan: I’m really influenced by ‘70s rock and roll and punk rock so I really like the mod-ish type shirts.
Patch: What about your hair and facial hair?
Galvan: Same thing. I usually just try different things. Today was just what I woke up and put in my head. I’m going for the wolverine chops and the Elvis chops. It’s just old school rock and roll I guess.
Patch: If you could spend your time in any decade, stylistically, what decade would you choose?
Galvan: Probably the ‘70s, the late ‘70s because like I said I like the boom of the British punk rock scene so I try to stick to that look.
Patch: How do you feel about cuffed pants? Can anybody rock them?
Galvan: Um, no, I mean these are just cuffed because they are too long for me but I don’t normally cuff my pants. But I guess it depends on what style you’re going with. If you’re going with an old school style then go for it, but if you’re some guy in a Hollister outfit and baggy, flare-y jeans, it doesn’t work, in my opinion.
Patch: What do you think about the whole Hollister and Abercrombie trend?
Galvan: I don’t think you’re really yourself when you dress from those kinds of stores. You just go with the flow and follow what is hot or not.
Patch: How do you incorporate the old school look when shopping for new clothes at a place like the Outlets?
Galvan: I look at pictures. I look at pictures of what they wore then and then Ben Sherman is like the guy who was around in the ’50s and ‘60s so he kind of keeps that spirit alive.
