Catalytic converters can cost between $2,000 and $3,000 to replace

GILROY, CA – Thefts of catalytic converters from Toyota vehicles are on the rise, the Gilroy Police Department announced on its Facebook page Tuesday.

Police said thieves are targeting Prius vehicles in particular because of the ease of which it is to remove catalytic converters from them.
