The 32-year-old female parked her car on shoulder near Salinas and walked onto freeway into path of oncoming Chevy Silverado.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the death Monday of a 32-year-old Salinas woman who got out of a vehicle and walked onto U.S. Highway 101, where she was struck and killed.
The woman, whose name is not yet being released, had been a passenger in the vehicle that stopped on the southbound shoulder of Highway 101 at Boronda Road in Salinas shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, CHP officials said.
After exiting the vehicle, she for some reason walked onto the highway and into the path of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado heading south in the middle lane of the freeway, according to the CHP.
