Cooling Centers Available In Santa Clara County
Starting May 28, 2020, cooling centers are open in Santa Clara County in cities of San Jose, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Saratoga, and Campbell.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CALIF. – As the National Weather Service heat advisory remains in effect for the Bay Area through Thursday, May 28, 2020, cooling centers are open in Santa Clara County in the cities of San Jose, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, Saratoga, and Campbell. To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the County of Santa Clara Public Health Department’s social distancing protocols will be observed at all cooling centers. Three Santa Clara County Library District locations, Gilroy Library, the Morgan Hill Library and the Saratoga Library, will be available as cooling centers on Wednesday, May 27 from 1:00 pm-6:00 pm, and Thursday, May 28 from 1:00 pm-6:00 pm.

- Gilroy Library - 350 W. 6th St., Gilroy, CA 95020
- Morgan Hill Library – 660 W. Main St., Morgan Hill, CA 95037
Five San Jose cooling centers are open May 26 from 5:00-9:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 27 from 1:00-9:00 pm., and Thursday, May 28 from 1:00-7:00 p.m.:

- Roosevelt Community Center - 901 E. Santa Clara St. San José, CA 95116
- Cypress Community Center - 403 Cypress Ave., San José, CA 95117
The Campbell Community Center located at 1 W. Campbell Avenue, Campbell, CA 95008 will open a cooling center for the public to use during these days and times:
- Tuesday, May 26 - 1:30 pm-8:00 pm, Q80 (Roosevelt Redwood Room)
- Wednesday, May 27 - 1:30 pm-8:00 pm, Q80 (Roosevelt Redwood Room)
- Thursday, May 28 - 1:30 pm-8:00 pm, Q80 (Roosevelt Redwood Room)
The following County Public Health Department social distancing guidelines will be enforced for cooling centers:
- Do not enter if you have COVID-19 symptoms including fever, cough, diarrhea, headache, muscle aches, shortness of breath, unexplained loss of taste or smell
- Face covering is required (exception of children 6 years and under or if medically unadvisable)
- Maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from others at all times
