Coroner IDs Teen Killed In Saturday Night Crash

The victim was actually 15 years old, not 16 as previously stated.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office has identified the teen killed in a car crash Saturday night in Gilroy. The medical examiner’s office identified the teen as 15-year-old Natalia Salcido of Gilroy.

Police had said the teen was 16 years old. Police responded to the crash in the 6300 block of Miller Avenue at about 10 p.m. and found that a car had left the road and hit a tree, according to police. Two of the teenagers in the car survived, but Salcido was trapped and later died at a hospital, police said.

Police said it’s unlikely drugs and alcohol were involved in the crash.
