Criminal Acts: Multiple Sex Registrant Violations, Hammer Attack and Dog Bites

Gilroy police responded to an assortment of calls over the last two weeks, from assaults, to sex registrant violations to thefts. Here’s a selection from the latest press report.

Wenesday, June 13
8:58 p.m.—During a warrant service, the arrestee was found to be in possession of two illegal knives that were found within immediate reach of the suspect.

12:55 a.m.—A suspect attempted to evade police in his vehicle and collided into a chain link fence where he got stuck. The suspect then fled on foot and a foot pursuit ensued. the suspect was later located on top of a residence in the area and was taken into custody without incident. 

Tuesday, June 12
2:58 p.m.—An unknown suspect used paper and an open fire to burn the planter area at 7370 Rosanna St.

Monday, June 11
9 p.m.—A 26-year-old male was arrested for an outstanding warrant and for driving under the influence of alcohol after being pulled over for a vehicle code violation.

12 p.m.—A sex registrant was found to be in violation of his registration requirements (290V, Garlic Farm Wy #23) 2451

6:43 a.m.—A truck from Trevis Berry was reported stolen and was later located to the rear of Tractor Supply Co. Attached to the truck were two unreported stolen trailers out of Los Banos. Loaded on one of the trailers was an unreported John Deer tractor and a stolen fork lift. All vehicles and equipment were returned to their owners.

Sunday, June 10
12:30 a.m.—Police attempted to arrest a 30-year-old man for spousal abuse. The man fled on foot, was pursued by the cops and taken into custody.

Friday, June 8
10:30 p.m.—A victim was assaulted in the parking lot of the Target on Camino Arroyo. Police tried to get details from the victim, but because of his level of intoxication he had no recollection of the event and could not provide any information. The victim became uncooperative at the scene and was transported to the hospital for his head and facial injuries.

9:50 p.m.—A traffic stop was conducted of a vehicle around the area of Monterey Street but the vehicle failed to yield. A pursuit occurred and continued through southbound Highway 101 and westbound on Highway 129. The pursuit was terminated because of safety reasons. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office later recovered the vehicle after it was involved in an accident in Watsonville.

Thursday, June 7
11:08 p.m.—A male was arrested around the area of Monterey and Pierce streets for an outstanding warrant. The subject was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

Wednesday, June 6
6:30 p.m.—A loose pit bull mix dog attacked another dog while it was being walked by its owner near the creek area of the levee at Uvas Park Drive. 2374
5:35 p.m.—A juvenile was bitten by a loose dog on Monterey Street.

5:10 p.m.—An unknown suspect opened an account in another person’s name.
9 a.m.—A missing person who’s a chronic runaway left his home on Camino Arroyo. His whereabouts are unknown.

Tuesday, June 5
3 p.m.—A neighbor’s German Shepard attacked an individual’s terrier mix causing injury around the area of Stephan Court. 2361

1:07 p.m.—A 29-year-old man was arrested on warrants. The male first identified himself as his brother to avoid arrest for the warrants. During a booking search, police found a syringe loaded with a substance that tested positive for meth in his possession. He was booked into county jail.

Monday, June 4
10:39 a.m.—An owner was cited for mandatory spay/neuter of pit bulls and no pet licenses around the area of Church and W. Tenth streets. 2333

Friday, June 1
9:19 p.m.—A suspect used a hammer to beat a victim and then fled the scene in a vehicle. The suspect vehicle was later recovered and ammunition was located inside.

12 p.m.—A sex registrant was found to be in violation of his registration requirements.
