Don't Miss Saturday At Grocery Outlet In Gilroy: A Rainbow Fruit and Veggie Fest
There will be discounts, recipe demos and family fun centered around healthy eating. The next event is May 30 at El Charrito.

News from the Santa Clara County Public Health Department:
This month California Champions for Change will team up with two Gilroy grocery stores, Grocery Outlet, and El Charrito Market, for “Fruit and Veggie Fest,” an annual event sponsored by the Santa Clara County Public Health Department, which celebrates healthy eating at food retail locations.
On Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., shoppers at Grocery Outlet at 333 E. 10th St. in Gilroy will be treated to special offers, cooking demonstrations and fun activities for the whole family; activities designed to encourage making healthier choices in every aisle.

El Charrito customers, at the store at 7638 Monterey Road, Gilroy, will have a similar opportunity on May 30 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
With a theme focused on the rainbow of color, flavor, and nutrition that fruits and vegetables offer, shoppers will be encouraged to fill their carts with plenty of fresh, frozen, dried and canned produce.

“Fruits and vegetables add a beautiful array of color to snacks and meals, and those colors are important because it means a diet rich in a variety of vitamins and minerals that our bodies need to be healthy,” said Lillian Castillo, Chair of the South County Collaborative. “Every trip to the grocery store is another chance to improve your family’s health by bringing home a rainbow of fruits and vegetables.”
“We want the healthy choice to be the easy choice for our residents,” said City of Gilroy Mayor Donald Gage, “Retail partnerships, like Fruit and Veggie Fest, are a win‐win for the community.”
