Driver Suffers Major Injuries When Car Hits Pole, Flips In Gilroy
Two passengers were also hurt in the Tuesday afternoon crash near Leavesley Road.

Three were ejected from a car after it struck a power pole and overturned today near Leavesley Road in Gilroy, police said.
Gilroy police and fire responded at 12:27 p.m. to the solo-vehicle accident that also downed power lines near Leavesley east of Arroyo Circle, according to the Gilroy Police Department.
The driver, who suffered major injuries and was found with no pulse and not breathing, was revived by emergency responders and transported to a trauma center for surgery, police said. No further update on his condition was available.

One passenger was transported to a trauma center with moderate but non-life threatening injuries, police said.
And the second passenger was treated and released from the scene for minor injuries.

The collision is under investigation, however, police said it appears the vehicle was traveling westbound on Leavesley approaching Arroyo Circle when the driver veered off the road and hit the power pole, police said. Police said no information was available on whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision.
