Earthquakes Shake Near Gilroy
The earthquakes were reported Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA — A magnitude 3.9 earthquake that struck approximately 12 miles north of Gilroy Wednesday night was followed up Thursday morning by a 2.7 temblor about 45 miles south of the city.
The United States Geological Survey reported Wednesday's quake was about 5.8 miles northeast of Morgan Hill in Santa Clara County. It struck at 11:16 p.m.
Thursday's morning's temblor struck just east of Pinnacles National Park, which is located on the borders of San Benito and Monterey counties. It hit at 8:34 a.m., according to the USGS.
