Ascencion Solorsano Middle School and Luigi Aprea Fundamental School will be honored along with 20 other Santa Clara County schools as recipients of the inaugural “2020 Vision” awards of the SJ2020 initiative, a collaborative community effort to eliminate the achievement gap by the year 2020.
Schools receiving the award were selected by the staff of the Santa Clara County Office of Education. San José Mayor Chuck Reed and Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Charles Weis will speak at the event. Recipients of the 2011 Academic Achievement Award Program will also be recognized.
