Due to the potential for heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke, residents are encouraged to take precautionary measures including:
☑ Drink plenty of fluids with electrolytes and stay out of the sun and in air conditioning when possible.☑ Ensure young children and pets are never left in vehicles under any circumstance. This is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures within minutes.☑ When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
☑ Check on vulnerable persons without air conditioning, such as older adults or infirm neighbors via phone or email, and ensure that they are staying cool and safe.
