Fireworks In Gilroy July 4th 2020 & Other Nearby Events

GILROY, CA — Independence Day events across the country will not look the same this year, thanks to the coronavirus. Most area cities and organizations decided to cancel their Fourth of July events, including in the South Bay and beach towns — with Gilroy being an exception.

A live display is planned from the local high school — albeit with viewing restrictions.

And throughout the region and in the SF Bay Area, several communities are hosting aerial flyovers, virtual fireworks and parades, decorating contests and patriotic, fun activities to do from home.

• Fourth of July Fireworks at Great America. As of this posting, the amusement park was uncertain of its reopening date. However, even if open by July 4th, fireworks shows will not occur this year, but will resume in 2021, a spokesperson said.
