Free Financial Planning Seminars Offered at Gilroy Library

These seminars are free and open to the public, and presented by Financial Planning Association Silicon Valley.

Know your current net worth? Saving enough for retirement? Up to date on the latest investments?

These questions and more will be discussed during Santa Clara County Library District’s (SCCLD) upcoming financial planning seminars during the months of March, April and May.

The seminars are presented by SCCLD and the Financial Planning Association Silicon Valley (FPASV), a non-profit organization helping consumers make intelligent financial decisions to achieve life goals.

“This is the third year that we have been able to offer these free seminars in our communities,” stated Nancy Howe, County Librarian. “By presenting these free seminars, we hope local residents will: 1) Learn how to put hard earned money to its best use, 2) Become better informed on financial issues, and 3) Use this financial knowledge to help plan for a stress free retirement.”

More than 23 financial planning seminars are currently planned at SCCLD libraries.

The topics will cover three major areas of interest:

· Wealth Spreading throughout Generations: Learn about gifting to grandchildren and educational savings plans and join in the discussion on potential generational skipping taxation.

o Saratoga Library: Tues. March 3 @ 7 pm

· Estate Planning for Life: Understand basic estate planning documents and how to protect your family by having an appropriate Estate Plan in place.

· Hatching a Nest Egg, Transitioning from Asset Accumulation to Retirement Distribution: Learn about retirement distribution and how to ensure retirement distributions last a lifetime.
