Gilroy Breaks Record High Temperature Sunday

The record set in 2000 was surpassed by three degrees on Sunday. It will be cooler Monday--but certainly not sweater weather.

If your idea of misery is sizzling hot temperatures, Sunday was a good day to find air conditioning and watch some football.

A new record high temperature was set at 104 degrees, breaking the old record set in 2000 of 101 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The good news is that Sunday is projected to be the peak, with cooler temperatures the rest of the week. The forecast for Monday is 96 degrees. Tuesday is when temperatures really dip--to 80 degrees.
