Multiple Agencies Battle Gilroy Brush Fire
BREAKING: Fire officials responded to the Ballybunion incident Sunday night.
GILROY, CA — Firefighters from multiple agencies throughout Santa Clara County were battling a brush fire in the Gilroy area Sunday night. The blaze was reported at 7:10 p.m. in the 1900 block of Ballybunion Court, according to the Pulsepoint cellphone app.
That location is in the hills near Santa Teresa Boulevard and the Eagle Ridge Golf Club.
NBC Bay Area reported the fire quickly spread to 10 acres and that firefighters from the Gilroy Fire Department, Cal Fire and the Santa Clara County Fire Department were fighting the blaze.

Cal Fire in a Twitter post confirmed it was assisting the Gilroy Fire Department on a wildfire off Ballybunion Court. Since that time, crews from throughout Santa Clara County, including Mountain View, Palo Alto, Milpitas and San Jose, have responded.
At 10:35 p.m. Sunday, the city of Gilroy reported that firefighters were establishing a perimeter around the fire to keep residents and properties safe.
