Gilroy Carjacking Suspect Arrested

Police said the suspect was responsible for a July 11 carjacking incident and an attempted carjacking five days later.

GILROY, CA – A tip from the public led to the arrest of a carjacking suspect, the Gilroy Police department announced on its Facebook page.

Police arrested a male teenage suspect in two separate incidents after receiving a report of a person acting suspiciously in the 8000 block of Kelton Drive shortly after 9 p.m.

Police arriving on the scene noticed the boy the matched description of a wanted carjacking suspect. They said the suspect is responsible for a July 11 carjacking incident and an attempted carjacking five days later.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Juvenile Hall.

“This case is another great example of the outstanding teamwork between the community members of Gilroy and the Gilroy Police Department!” the announcement read.
