Gilroy ‘cLOVE’ Virtual Event Raises $40K For Nonprofits: Report
The event included a raw garlic clove eating contest that brought in more than $28,000.
GILROY, CA – A local group has raised nearly $40,000 for local nonprofits, The Gilroy Dispatch reports.
Leadership Gilroy’s held a virtual three-day fundraising event over the weekend when the Gilroy Garlic Festival would have taken place, the report said.
The festival was cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis.

The event included a raw garlic clove eating contest that brought in more than $28,000, the report said. The group raised an additional $11,000 through direct donations.
