GILROY, CA — A power outage has been reported that is affecting a large number of Gilroy residents, the police department said in a news release Monday.
The outage is impacting the Gilroy Police Department’s ability to receive 9-1-1 calls, the release said, noting that local residents are asked to refrain from calling police unless it is an emergency.
Currently, there is no estimated time of repair.

Local residents are asked to drive with caution, police said, noting that if a traffic signal it not working, motorists should treat the intersection as if it were controlled by stop signs and not to assume other drivers will stop for them.
