Gilroy Homeowners Eligible for Rebates When Making Energy-Saving Improvements

The County of Santa Clara is pleased to inform you of an opportunity to receive rebates for making energy saving improvements to your home. Single-family homeowners can be eligible for incentives up to $6,800 with the Energy Upgrade California® Home Upgrade program. Please join us for a free informational workshop to learn more about the program, the benefits of an energy upgrade and how to find a Participating Contractor.

The Santa Clara County Office of Sustainability is the local coordinator for Home Upgrade, and secures grants to fund sustainability and rebate programs. Home Upgrade promotes energy efficiency and conservation, and is part of the County of Santa Clara’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as mandated by the California Global Warming Solutions Act (Assembly Bill 32).

Energy Upgrade California® Home Upgrade
Energy Upgrade California® Home Upgrade provides assistance and incentives for home improvement projects that can reduce energy use and make homes more comfortable. This statewide program is managed locally by utilities and regional energy networks and directed by the California Public Utilities Commission in collaboration with the California Energy Commission. Funding comes from utility customers under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission. Incentives are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are effective until funding is expended or the program is discontinued. The Office of Sustainability was established by the Board of County Supervisors in August 2010, with a mission to integrate sustainability measures and principles across all departments and offices, and to forge a leadership and collaborative role for the County among local, state, and national partnerships addressing climate mitigation, adaptation, energy, water and resource optimization. In less than four years, the Office of Sustainability has generated more than $25 million in grant and alternative funding support for local and regional programs, and has garnered a number of regional, state and national awards for innovation in energy program design and marketing.
