Gilroy Hwy 152, First Street Improvements Move Forward In Planning, Approval Stages

GILROY, CA - From the City of Gilroy: Plans and approvals are moving forward for both the water line and resurfacing projects for California State Highway 152/First Street with construction on the water line scheduled to begin in 2018 followed by resurfacing in 2019.

Gilroy is currently in the final phase of submitting plans and specifications for the permit application for the First Street water line project and once approved, will begin a bidding process for construction. Plans and preparations are being made to begin construction on the water line in spring of 2018. As for the resurfacing, Caltrans is currently in the environmental and survey process for base mapping and will begin preparing their Plans, Specifications and Estimates package. Caltrans is preparing for an anticipate start of resurfacing First Street to begin in spring of 2019.
