Gilroy Mother Admits To Drowning 2-Year-Old In Bathtub: Police
A 35-year-old woman called 911 and said she had drowned her 2-year-old daughter, according to police.
GILROY, CA — A Gilroy woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after she called 911 and satted that she had drowned her two-year-old daughter, Gilroy police said Monday.
Officers responded to the woman's call around 11:30 a.m. Sunday at her home, on the 7900 block of Westwood Drive.
Once there, they found a lifeless child in a bathtub filled with water. Officers performed CPR, and the Gilroy Fire Department and Rural Metro performed "other lifesaving measures," but the girl was pronounced dead after being transported to Saint Louise Regional Hospital, police said.

Marcie Montelongo, 35, of Gilroy, was arrested near the intersection of Miller Avenue and First Street after telling a police officer she had just killed her daughter. She was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on a charge of murder.
