GILROY, CA – The Gilroy City Council named Jimmy Forbis as its new city administrator Monday, The Gilroy Dispatch reports.
Jimmy Forbis has served as city administrator in an interim role for seven months according to the report.
Forbis, who is from Wichita, Kansas, served in administrative roles in Morgan Hill, Monterey and San Mateo County before taking the interim position in Gilroy, the report said.

Mayor Roland Velasco was only councilmember who opposed the move. He wanted to conduct a nationwide search to fill the position according to the report.
