Gilroy Opens New Downtown Coronavirus Testing Site

Persons experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should contact their health provider for testing.

GILROY, CA — Gilroy officials announced the opening of a new downtown coronavirus testing site Friday.

Free testing will be available by appointment only at the Gilroy Civic Center at 7351 Church St. (between 6th and 7th streets).

The site will be open Fridays through Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. To make an appointment call 1-888-634-1123 or visit here.

The new downtown test is among two currently operated by the city. The other is at South County Annex (formerly Del Buono Elementary School) at 9300 Wren Ave.

South Annex is a walk-in site open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The County Health Department recommends the following persons get tested:

  • Anyone who has been exposed to someone who tested positive
  • Anyone who works with the public should get tested once a month
  • Anyone who rides public transit
  • Anyone who attends a mass gathering
