Gilroy Strong Resource Center Expands: Report
Permanent offices have been opened for private counseling.

GILROY, CA — A resource center established by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office to help those impacted by the 2019 Gilroy Garlic Festival shooting has expanded, The Gilroy Dispatch reports.
The Gilroy Strong Resource Center will offer private counseling services at permanent offices, the report said.
The GSRC is located at the 7365 Monterey St.

District Attorney Jeff Rosen lauded the South Bay city for its resilience in the aftermath of the July 28, 2019 mass shooting in a series of videos the DA’s Office released in concert with the program’s expansion, the report said.
“This city rose up after the worst day in its modern history and answered hatred and violence with care and cooperation,” Rosen said.

The GSRC aims to foster wellness and resilience for victims and those impacted by
The GSRC is a multi-agency collaboration and serves as a center for individual and group counseling, trauma education, victim advocacy, victim compensation, and information on community resources according to its website.
All services provided are free and provided in both English and Spanish. Childcare will be provided.
Immigration status will not be requested when entering the GSRC.
The GSRC is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. or by appointment.
