Gilroy Unified School District Invites For Read Across America 2020

The Gilroy Unified School District invites readers in our community to join us for our annual Read Across America celebration on March 2, 2020.

We're looking for volunteers to come read aloud (in English or Spanish) in our elementary school classrooms (Transitional Kindergarten- 5th grade) for one to two hours as GUSD participates in Read Across America Day.

You may choose your preferred grade level range if you would like. If you don't have a preference, just sign up in our general section and we will let you know where you are needed the most. If you would like to request a specific school, please indicate it in the comment section.

We will email you the Tuesday before the event and let you know which school and classroom you will be reading at as well as the exact time.

Schools will provide books for classes, however, if you have a grade level appropriate favorite book, feel free to read that to the class instead. Readers may be asked to read to more than one classroom, depending on need.
