Gilroy Woman Tragically Killed In Highway 25 Crash Identified

BREAKING: The victim's vehicle crossed double-yellow lines and went down embankment, CHP said.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA – A 25-year-old Gilroy woman killed Saturday morning when her pickup truck crashed off of Highway 25 northwest of Hollister has been identified as Maria Angelica Robles, according to the California Highway Patrol and San Benito County sheriff's officials.

Robles was driving a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 on southbound Highway 25 around 7:30 a.m., when she crossed the road's solid double-yellow lines just past Bolsa Road in San Benito County, CHP officials said.

The vehicle entered a northbound lane, left the roadway and went down an embankment before it crashed into a dirt culvert, according to the CHP.

Robles died of her injuries at the scene, CHP officials said.

Investigators don't suspect drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, CHP officials said.
