Man Fatally Shot In Gilroy
BREAKING: Gilroy police are investigating the fatal shooting as a homicide — the first in the city in 2017.

GILROY, CA — A 32-year-old man was shot dead Wednesday in Gilroy, police said. Officers responded at 4:34 p.m. to the 7500 block of Alexander Street to a report of a shooting and found the victim outside a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said in a statement Thursday morning. Witnesses said the victim was in a verbal altercation with another man "moments before the shooting," police said.
Emergency personnel also responded and performed life-saving measures but the man, whose identity has not been publicly revealed, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Gilroy Police Department Investigations Bureau asked anyone who may have seen the shooting or has any knowledge of the fatal incident to call Detective Eric Cryar at 408-846-0335. Callers may remain anonymous, police said.
