May 12 meeting will review Salinas Union High School District upgrades and new high school construction
Measure B funds will prevent overcrowding and generate local construction jobs

Tomorrow night, the Salinas Union High School Board of Directors will meet to review construction options for district-wide upgrades and construction funded by Measure B. Approved in November, Measure B invests $128 Million into the district to accommodate the anticipated increase in enrollments over the next several years (800 – 900 students in the next five years).
Measure B creates work for local construction professionals and valuable on-the-job training opportunities for apprentices. In their meeting, the Board will consider various options regarding the execution of the construction contracts. The work can either remain open to all, with no restrictions, or go to a select few using a special agreement.
Community members are encouraged to attend the Board Meeting and hear the various viewpoints: Tuesday, May 12, starting at 7pm and located at 431 W. Alisal St.
