Meet-Up With 'Underage Girl' Ends In South Bay Man's Arrest
The suspect allegedly sent an explicit image and arranged in-person encounter with cop posing online as 14-year-old, police said.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA – A 33-year-old San Jose man was arrested Tuesday evening on sex-related charges after arriving at a designated location where he thought he was meeting a minor with whom he communicated online, police said.
Joe Nanez was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on felony charges of suspicion of sending harmful matter to a minor and attempting to meet a minor to commit lewd and lascivious acts, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Working for the department's Internet Crimes Against Children/Child Exploitation Detail task force, a San Jose officer on Tuesday was contacted and received from Nanez a sexually explicit image while the undercover officer posed online as a 14-year-old girl, police said.

"Later that evening, Nanez arrived at a pre-designated location in San Jose where he agreed to meet the minor," the agency said. "Nanez was arrested without incident."

San Jose police reminded parents to discuss social media safety with their children.
