Outage Near Gilroy Affects Hundreds
Thousands near the Santa Clara-Santa Cruz county line woke to find themselves in the dark Friday morning.

SOUTH BAY, CA — More than 2,000 Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers near the Santa Clara-Santa Cruz county line were in the dark Friday morning, including hundreds east of Gilroy.
Three hundred buildings east of Llagas-Uvas in Santa Clara County lost power around 5:45 a.m. PG&E said it was sending a crew to assess the matter as of 7 a.m. and hoped to restore power by 3 p.m. The cause for that outage is unknown.
Another outage impacting nearly 2,000 — primarily in the Santa Cruz County communities of Corralitos, Amesti and Freedom — was reported around 1:20 a.m., according to PG&E. Crews are on scene and working to determine the cause. PG&E believes it will restore power by 2 p.m.
