Retired Gilroy Fire Division Chief Takes New Role: Report

GILROY, CA — A retired Gilroy Fire Division Chief has taken a new role.

Mary Gutierrez was named Seaside’s fire chief Monday, The Gilroy Dispatch reports.

Gutierrez had worked for the Gilroy Fire Department since 2014 before retiring in January, the report said.

She was selected out of a field of 32 amid the Monterey County city’s national recruitment effort according to the report.
