Roughly 1,475 Firefighters Still At Scene Of 91K-Acre Soberanes Fire [UPDATE]
High temps and low humidity persist in the Monterey County region.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA – Firefighters working the 91,453-acre Soberanes Fire in Monterey County say the blaze did not spread significantly Saturday, despite high temperatures and low humidity that are expected to persist today.
The fire, which is now 60 percent contained, was started by an illegal campfire July 22 in Garrapata State Park.
It's killed one contractor who was operating a bulldozer when it rolled over. Four other injuries have been reported. A total of 57 homes and 11 outbuildings have been destroyed.

As of today, there are still 410 structures threatened, firefighters said, and roughly 1,475 personnel working the incident. They hope to have it contained by Sept. 31.
Fire evacuations remain in place for Coast Ridge Road from mile-marker 1.5 to Marble Peak.

As of Friday, CAL FIRE is no longer in unified command of the fire as the majority of the activity is now burning on National Forest Land.
