Sixteen New Physicians Join Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center

Sixteen new physicians have joined the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical center and its Gilroy medical office. The physicians are specialists in Family Medicine, Psychiatry, Oncology, Gastroentology, Geriatrics, and Emergency Medicine. All have completed high-level training fellowships in their specialties. They are:

· Dr. Jennifer Narvaez, named Medical Director of Psychiatry at the Kaiser Permanente Gilroy Medical Office. Dr. Narvaez comes from Kaiser Permanente San Francisco and did her training at Harvard Massachussetts General Hospital.

· Dr. Poorti Bhandarkar joins Adult and Family Medicine Department at Kaiser Permanente San Jose. She completed her residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California.

· Dr. Neha Rajkanan also completed her training at Loma Linda. She graduated from the University Of Missouri School Of Medicine in Kansas City and joins the Adult and Family Medicine Department at Kaiser Permanente San Jose.

· Dr. Deepinder Singh comes from Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara where he completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine. He will also be in the Adult-Family Medicine Department at Kaiser Permanente San Jose.

· Dr. Timothy Brennan has joined the Adult-Family Medicine group at the Gilroy Medical Office. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Brennan worked for Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa, and also at the Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas.

· Dr. Shuk-Han (Terri) Wong joins Kaiser Permanente San Jose as a hospital-based physician. She graduated from Tulane Medical School and most recently worked as a hospitalist at Kaiser Permanente San Leandro.

· Dr. Raymond Tu has been named Assistant Chief for Gastroenterology at Kaiser Permanente San Jose. Graduating from Temple University, Dr. Tu did an advanced fellowship at University of California-Davis Medical Center, where he often returns to teach up-and-coming physicians.

· Dr. Faisal Cheema joins the Department of Oncology at Kaiser Permanente San Jose. He completed his residency at Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati and a fellowship at Stanford University.

· Dr. Jeanine Phan joins the Department of Medicine as a specialist in Geriatric Care. She trained at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, and completed fellowships in Family Medicine and Geriatric Care.

· Dr. Francis Chu joins the Adult-Family Medicine Department, and will be the director for a new residency program at Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center. The program is expected to start in 2018, training new doctors in Adult and Family Medicine, and will be Kaiser Permanente San Jose’s first teaching program.

· Dr. Rosalydia Tamayo joins the Department of Family Medicine at the KP Gilroy Medical Office. Dr. Tamayo earned a Materials Engineering Degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and worked in Silicon Valley for 10 years, before deciding to become a doctor after years of volunteering at the Pacific Free Medical Clinic in San Jose. She graduated from UC-San Diego medical school, trained at San Francisco General, and has been a Kaiser Permanente member all her life.

· Dr. Isamu Yoshioka, a graduate of is this the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, joins the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Emergency Department.

· Dr. Jae Won Joh, a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine, also joins the Kaiser Permanente San Jose Emergency Department. He and Dr. Yoshioka are Emergency Medicine specialists.

· Dr. Oliver Sum-Ping comes to the Regional Sleep Medicine lab at Kaiser Permanente San Jose. He trained at the University of Texas Southwestern in neurology, and specialized in Sleep Medicine at Stanford.

· Dr. Maryam Yamini also trained in Family Medicine at University of Texas in San Antonio after completing medical school in Germany. She joins the department in San Jose.

· Dr. Kevin Herrick joins the Family Medicine department at the Kaiser Permanente Gilroy Medical Office. After graduating from the University of Colorado Medical School, Dr. Herrick earned a PhD in Genetics at UC-Davis.
