Suspect Allegedly Punches Morgan Hill Cop During Traffic Stop

Police arrested a man after he allegedly punched an officer during a traffic stop early Saturday morning in Morgan Hill.

MORGAN HILL - Police arrested a man after he allegedly punched an officer during a traffic stop early Saturday morning in Morgan Hill.

An officer noticed a vehicle driving recklessly on Butterfield Boulevard and made traffic stop, according to police.

The officer identified the driver as Dante Fullard and discovered he was on probation.

Additionally, Fullard displayed signs of alcohol and drug intoxication, police said.

When another officer attempted to evaluate Fullard for driving while under the influence, Fullard punched the officer in the chest, before fleeing on foot, according to police.

The officer, who was not injured, chased Fullard.

Officers were eventually able to apprehend the suspect.

Fullard was also found to be in possession of cocaine, police said.

Officer arrested Fullard on multiple allegations and booked him into the Santa Clara County Main Jail, according to police.
