Temblor Shakes Near Morgan Hill in Morning Hours

A quake with a magnitude of 3.4 hit 9 miles north of Morgan Hill on Monday.

 

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.4 rattled an area south of San Jose early Monday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake occurred at 1:13 a.m. about 9 miles north of Morgan Hill and about 15 miles southeast of downtown San Jose, according to the USGS.

According to the site, 26 people in Morgan Hill and one person from San Martin reported feeling the early-morning quake. The temblor had a depth of about 4 miles.
