Update Regarding City Of Gilroy Utility Billing Statements

The automatic bill payment system will attempt to charge the full balance of the utility account on June 15.

Water utility billing services were recently resumed by the City of Gilroy. Customers enrolled in automatic bill payment are encouraged to review their accounts and bill amounts. The automatic bill payment system will attempt to charge the full balance of the utility account early in the morning at 12:01 AM, or soon thereafter, on June 15, 2020. This includes the March, April, and May charges as a combined total. Customers currently enrolled in automatic bill payment who would like to request a payment plan should cancel automatic bill payment no later than June 13 to avoid this automatic charge and contact our Utility Billing Customer Service to set up a payment plan. Enrollment in automatic bill payment service can be resumed at any time. If you are having difficulties in cancelling the automatic bill payment setting, please contact Utility Billing Customer Service at ub@cityofgilroy.org or by phone at (408) 846-0420. If a customer service representative isn’t able to answer, please leave a voicemail and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Utility billing services were temporarily suspended due to the closure of City Hall in accordance with the shelter in place order. These billing services have recently resumed and customers should have received utility billing statements last week (first week of June) for services provided March 1-April 30. The regular monthly statement for services provided May 1-31 was mailed out this week (second week of June). Both statements have a due date of June 30, 2020; however, customers may request a payment plan by contacting the Utility Billing team at ub@cityofgilroy.org with the email subject line, “Payment Plan Request”, or by phone at (408) 846-0420. Upon receipt of your request, a team member with contact you to make arrangements for a payment plan.

Please note that utility billing has received a lot of inquiries, and are responding as quickly as possible to requests. We thank you for your patience as we work to restore customer service within the confines of the current shelter in place orders. If you get the voicemail message on the utility billing phone line, please leave a voicemail and staff will respond as quickly as possible.
