Whiz Kids: John and Hector Richard Jimenez
The Jimenez brothers are Patch's Whiz "Kids" of the week because of their dedication to academics and involvement in activities like wrestling and film club.

This week, we're getting a double dose of inspiration from Whiz Kids John Jimenez and his bro, Hector. The Gilroy High students have excelled at wrestling and are active in school affairs. The duo cites motivation and self confidence as the driving forces pushing them to succeed.

“My key to success would have to be motivation—it drives me to do things and allows me to be successful. If I'm motivated to do something, then I'll work my hardest to complete it. My main motivation or inspiration is God. I'm motivated by God to do good and be successful in whatever I do. In my opinion, whenever someone is motivated to do something, they’re most likely to succeed in their goal.”

Key to Awesomeness:
“In my opinion, the key to awesomeness ultimately depends on what your definition of awesome is. If being awesome means to be successful in academics, then I believe there are definitely certain keys in order to reach that state. One key that stands out for me is self confidence. Without self confidence, we as people, don't function to our full potential. In order to succeed, we must push ourselves beyond our own limits, go outside our comfort zone and be as unpredictable as possible. Overall I believe in order to be ‘awesome’ one must truly understand the meaning of self confidence.”
