Woman Fends Off Armed Robber In Her Gilroy Driveway

BREAKING: Police released video of suspect in his white truck.

GILROY, CA – A woman was able to scare off a man who tried to rob her at gunpoint Wednesday morning in Gilroy, police said.

Around 8:30 a.m., a woman was cleaning out her car near Clark and Crawford drives, according to police.

A man then approached the woman, sneaking up from behind and brandishing a black semiautomatic pistol and demanding money, police said.

The victim immediately screamed and was able to fight off the suspect. The suspect then got into a nearby vehicle and fled.

A surveillance camera was able to capture images of the suspect's vehicle. It was described as a white long bed Toyota Tundra T-100 extra cab with a chrome-colored roll bar in the bed of the truck, according to police.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a medium complexion, between the ages of 25 and 32, with a heavy build, 5 feet 8 inches tall and wearing a blue colored short sleeved shirt and jeans. He had short hair and a light mustache, police said.
