4th Of July Bullet Pierces Outdoor Pool Near Glendora
An above-ground backyard swimming pool was pierced by a bullet near Glendora. Police say could be from 4th of July celebrations.

GLENDORA, CA — What goes up must come down and in the Glendora area, a father and his daughter are lucky to be unharmed this week, police said. A resident who noticed a leak in his above ground pool discovered a bullet hole in the pool's bottom.
That bullet -- possibly from celebratory July 4 gunfire -- pierced through the above- ground back yard pool in Azusa while the two were taking a swim, police said.
It happened about 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of East Roland Street, according to Azusa police.

"Due to the amount of noise from fireworks exploding in the area, the father did not specifically hear the gunshot," according to a police statement. "He saw the pool was leaking."
Upon further inspection, he discovered the reason.

"It wasn't until today, when he was looking in the pool, that he found the bullet on the bottom of the pool," police said. The hole in the pool had been made by the bullet, most likely while they were swimming.
