A Look Back At The Pacific Electric Railway
Glendora was once part of an extensive electrified rail system.
As officials work to bring the Gold Line into Glendora, take a look back at a time when the Pacific Electric ruled the rails. Not so long ago, the "Red Car" used to buzz through the Southland on 1,100 miles of rail, taking patrons as far east as Mt. Baldy, as far south as Long Beach and as high as Echo Mountain above Altadena.
The Pacific Electric had a single line running through Glendora, shuttling passengers and even freight. The Plaza in The Village is where the Glendora Station used to reside.
