Before I share the sweet letter, I want to say thank you to the multitude of volunteers that worked on blanket cutting day! This project wouldn't be successful without all of you. I am thankful for the district's support by providing a truck and driver enabling me to pick up our giant stash of material. We have the support of our MOT department as well. Thank you Shawn for making the arrangements for the truck and to Elvis for driving. Steve met us at Cedargrove to help unload the 29 gigantic rolls of material. Robert helped unload and cleaned up the cafeteria at light speed so we could have the entire cafeteria for cutting material. Laurie, our cafeteria manager, helped me get the cutting stations ready in time for our volunteers. I couldn't have been ready in time without her! David Young has the patience of a saint with the gads of Blankets of Love deposits and receipts. Miss Rose always cheerfully accepts the deposits at the office for me. My daughter Sami brought her strong friends to help cut material and carry the heavy rolls to cutting stations. More than 70 amazing volunteers worked together to cut 450 blankets. I am always in awe at how everyone works together to get the job done. Our hard work, our blankets of love, will bless 450 children and their families soon. Here is a thank you note...a word of encouragement!
"To Whom It May Concern,
Please forward this message to the Director in charge of your district's Blankets of Love program. My daughter Cameron received a blanket and letter from you in December 2011 while staying at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. She is now 4 years old and had 3 extended hospital stays and over 6 surgeries/procedures on her heart. Thankfully, she is doing very well today. Cameron still uses her Blanket of Love and we were so honored to have received it in 2011 and are equally as glad today. Thank you for including us in this awesome program!
Heart Hugs,
Janine, Eric and Cameron Van Poppelen"
