Blog Post: 100th Anniversary, Eatable Book Contest at Library a Success!

Glendora Public Library and the Glendora Woman's Club celebrate 100 years of Library Service: "From Their Hands to Yours"

On May 19, 2012, the Glendora Woman's Club, family, friends and patrons, celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Club's founding of the Glendora Public Library.

An 'Eatable Book" contest and ice cream social were held and gallons of ice cream and lots of cake were consumed.

The Society for Calligraphers were on hand to create personalized bookmarks. Legislators and our City Council lauded their accomplishment. Kids were given tote bags that they could color themselves with just crayons.

Each category in the 'Eatable Book' contest (professional, adult, youth/teen and family) were judged independently and winners anounced in each category. Check out the photos-we have some pretty amazing cake decorators in our town!

We hope to make this an annual event to kick off our Summer Reading Clubs in future years.  I hope to see your entry next year!
