Blog: Easter Basket Giveaway Proves Huge Success
Hundreds of families show up at Sowing Seeds for Life's sixth annual Easter Basket giveway, which was part of a regularly scheduled food pantry.
Glendora resident Vicki Brown could only dream that the charitable organization she founded in late 2007 would have events like the one at DPI Labs in La Verne on Wednesday.
Her charity, Sowing Seeds for Life, which provides food and services to some 6,000 people per month, held its sixth annual Easter Basket giveaway, and it was a huge success. Hundreds of families showed and the smiles on the children's faces were evident everywhere.
Some 250 Easter baskets filled with goodies were given away to children during a special Sowing Seeds for Life food pantry. SSFL, as it is known for short, holds food pantries at DPI on the first and third Wednesday of every month.

Some two dozen volunteers recently assembled the Easter baskets from scratch and filled them with goodies. For the adults, there was the usual fare of food items, produce and water, plus free hams.
